I’m not much of a packaged-cookie fan, but I just have to give some love to Carr’s ginger lemon cremes. An ex-roommate turned me on to these imported “English” tea cookies, and ever since I usually have a box in my cabinet for midnight snacking emergencies and the occasional proper tea. These classed-up little oreos feature creamy lemon filling sandwiched between two crisp ginger snaps, and the combination of spice and tart in a cookie is unexpectedly delightful. Find them in the cookie section of the NYC deli of your choice (about $3.50).
